Mark Bowden

Mark Bowden is a bestselling author, screenwriter, and journalist. He is a national correspondent for The Atlantic, and writes a column for The Philadelphia Inquirer. His book “Black Hawk Down” was a finalist for the National Book Award, won the Overseas Press Club’s 1997 Hal Boyle Award, and was the basis of the two-time Academy Award winning film of the same name. His book “Killing Pablo” won the Overseas Press Club’s 2001 Cornelius Ryan Award, and has been optioned for motion picture, as has his most recent book, “Guest of the Ayatollah.” He has also written for The New Yorker, Sports Illustrated, and The New York Times, and teaches journalism and creative writing at his alma mater, Loyola College of Maryland.
