A Moot Court: The War Powers Resolution
What happens when the President authorizes the use of force without a declaration of war? Who has the power to deploy U.S. armed forces into battle, and for how long? Distinguished legal scholars and 2009 Jennings faculty members Erwin Chemerinsky and Kenneth W. Starr argue a hypothetical case testing the constitutionality of the War Powers Resolution.
Behind the Scenes: The Executive Response to 9/11
At 8:46 on the morning of September 11, 2001, our country became a nation transformed. In an unprecedented panel, veterans of the Bush administration describe how the executive branch functioned on that day and in the days immediately succeeding it, led by ABC correspondent Ann Compton, one of only two journalists on Air Force One throughout September 11.

The Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and the Constitution is an annual event hosted by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia with generous support from the Annenberg Foundation. Its mission is to help professional journalists understand constitutional issues more deeply. It is hoped that through that discovery, the Project participants and, in turn, those who are or will be touched by their work, will see that the constitutional discussion is not limited to the domain of the court system or academic exchange. Instead, constitutionalism reaches into the fabric of daily life.
