Civic Mission of Schools
The Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools works with its coalition partners to bring about changes in state, local, and national policy. The Campaign's goal is to increase and improve civic learning in grades K-12 by working for policies that implement the recommendations of the Civic Mission of Schools report.
The Center for Democracy & Citizenship at the Council for Excellence in Government, in partnership with the Academy for Educational Development, is managing the Campaign. The Council for Excellence in Government works to improve the performance of government at all levels; and government's place in the lives and esteem of American citizens. The Council helps to create stronger public sector leadership and management, and increased citizen confidence and participation in government through better understanding of government and its role.
The Academy for Educational Development, a global educational and social development organization, works to improve the quality of decision making for educational reform and workforce development in the United States. AED works at all levels of the education system, focusing on teacher preparation and student achievement.
